David Lockart is a general practitioner who has a passion for improving health care delivery through education, leadership and advocacy.
David lives and works in Tamworth, NSW, where he was born and completed all his primary and high school education. In 2003, he moved to Sydney to study Medicine at UNSW. After completing his university education, he completed his initial hospital and GP training in the northern part of Sydney, before he returned to complete the final part of his GP training in Tamworth in 2013.
David is a GP and director at Tallowwood Health in Tamworth, which he joined as a registrar, and took up responsibilities as a part owner and director in July 2018. David is also involved in training the next generation of GPs in his position as a Medical Educator with th RACGP. Since 2017, David has also been a member of the HNECC PHN Rural Clinical Council and is the current chair, a role that allows David to provide locally relevant perspectives on community health issues to the PHN.
