Dr Shetty has extensive experience in general adult psychiatry, with a keen interest in psychopharmacology and psychiatric issues seen in the elderly including neurocognitive disorders. Dr Shetty is a budding researcher with her work focusing in Psychiatric Disorders within the Geriatric population.
In line with her interest in promoting understanding of psychiatric conditions, she conducts educational sessions for doctors and allied health services in addition to being an examiner for medical students with the University of Newcastle. Her expertise is in the area of Anxiety Disorders, Depression (including Mood Disorders such as Bipolar Disorder), Personality Disorders, Psychosis, Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD) and Capacity Assessments.
Dr Shetty offers assessment, formulation and treatment for patients over 18 years of age through inpatient and outpatient settings.
